A native to Chiapas and Guatemala, Tillandsia Velutina has dark green, velvety-soft leaves.

Almost resembles Brachycaulos Multiflora, but it is darker green and the leaves are much softer with more pronounced trichomes on the leaves. It turns completely red when getting ready to bloom and will produce a fiery red spike.
