Tillandsia Neglecta

Tillandsia Neglecta is a compact, hard-leafed air plant with a sturdy, almost succulent-like look. Its thick, leathery green leaves grow from a short central stem, creating a neat, substantial little plant rather than a soft, wispy rosette.

This species is native to southeastern Brazil, where it can be found growing on rocky surfaces and cliffs. Its sturdy leaves are well suited to this environment, and over time Neglecta can produce offsets around its base and develop into a dense little clump.

The flowers are an especially nice surprise. When it blooms, Neglecta produces an upright inflorescence with reddish to pink bracts and beautiful blue flowers—a striking combination against its green foliage.

If you prefer air plants with a more structured, substantial look, Neglecta is a great one to add to your collection. It stays relatively compact while offering thick foliage, interesting growth and an unexpectedly colourful bloom.
