Tillandsia Ionantha x Schiedeana

Tillandsia Ionantha x Schiedeana, also known as Tillandsia ‘Rectifolia’, is a hardy natural hybrid air plant that brings together some of the best traits of both parent plants. It has the neat, compact rosette and soft, fuzzy leaves of Ionantha, combined with the showy flowering habit of Schiedeana.

Its green leaves are covered in fine trichomes, giving the plant a soft, slightly fuzzy appearance. When it’s getting ready to bloom, the centre leaves blush a beautiful bright red, creating a gorgeous contrast with the delicate cream, yellow or violet flowers that follow.

Rectifolia is also a great clumper. It produces pups readily, and over time, those pups grow into a dense, rounded cluster that can become a real feature in your collection.
