Tillandsia Caput Medusae x Brachycaulos

This hybrid air plant combines two very different Tillandsias to create a plant with a great mix of structure and movement. It takes the inflated, bulbous base and twisting foliage of T. caput-medusae and combines it with the broader, smoother leaves of T. brachycaulos.

The result is a full, substantial air plant with thick, curving leaves that give it a sculptural look without being overly stiff. The foliage has a soft green appearance with a very light covering of trichomes, adding just enough texture to highlight its unusual shape.

It also has an interesting colour change when flowering. Plants of this cross can develop a rosy to red blush through the foliage as they come into bloom, followed by attractive purple flowers.

With its chunky base, curving leaves and colourful bloom, this is a great hybrid for anyone who likes air plants with a little more shape and substance.
